Datuk Md Zubir has over 35 years of strategic, financial, and management expertise in a variety of industries, including financial services, aviation, transportation, information and communication technology, trading, and corporate consulting.
He has previously served as Chairman of the Boards of UiTM Holdings Berhad, MyFranchise Sdn. Bhd., and PNS ASQ Asia Sdn. Bhd., as well as a board member of Focus Point Holdings Berhad, Perbadanan Nasional Berhad (PNS), Seacera Group Berhad, MyCreative Ventures Bhd., and several Malaysia Debt Ventures Berhad (“MDV”) customers. He served on MDeC’s Global Technology Funds Evaluation Committee and as a Corporate Advisor to UMCIC, the University of Malaya, and a number of national committees. After 13 years as Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, he retired from MDV in 2018. From a loss-making firm, he has effectively changed MDV into a highly professional and profitable organization with total assets of more than RM1.5 billion.
Datuk Zubir has a strong set of credentials, including a professional degree as a Chartered Accountant (CA) from the Malaysian Institute of Accountants. He also holds a Bachelor of Accounting with Honors from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia “UKM”, indicating a solid foundation in accounting concepts. He also holds a professional certificate in Banking and managing Processes from the Asian Institute of Management in Manila, which combines his accounting knowledge with a thorough understanding of banking and managing processes
